Business Coaching Clubs

Business owners frequently identify getting sound advice on building their business as a strong need, and one of the big trends in recent years has been the use of business coaches. Typically, coaching involves a coach working with the business owner to identify options and strategies to make changes and improvements. However, feedback on the effectiveness of this model of business coaching is mixed, and depends of such factors as the coach’s background and business experience.

Recently an exciting new business coaching model has been developed based on the concept of coaching within small groups. Instead of the one-on-one coaching model, the business person is a member of a small group, typically eight business owners with a business coach who acts as the facilitator. The group meets together on a regular basis, and through a structured format with quality support materials, the members mentor, coach and help one another. The combined synergy on the group is very effective in improving their businesses’ effectiveness and profitability.

This new coaching approach has been developed by 10X, a Brisbane-based company. It is being rolled out through selected accountancy practices around Australia, and SBMS will be one of four on the Gold Coast to be 10X licensees. We are planning our second 'Edge Event' for March 2009, and we’ll let you know more about it as the time draws closer.
